On-base housing

  • The inventory is more than 1,700 townhomes and towers.
  • Homes are on Main Base and in the North Area.
  • On-base-first started on 27 May 2026.
  • It covers accompanied members and military couples.
  • It also covers unaccompanied members from E-1 through E-6.
  • Accept an on-base unit when one fits your grade and family.
  • If family housing is full, the community is allowed until a unit opens.
  • Report to housing within 24 hours of arrival.

  • Monday through Thursday hours are 8:00 to 15:00.
  • Friday hours are 8:00 to 14:00.
  • File DD Form 1746 with your orders.
  • Unaccompanied housing has eleven buildings.
  • The unaccompanied office is building 671.
  • Dorm residents in grades E-1 through E-3 get 10 percent of the weight allowance.
  • E-4 under three years has that same 10 percent limit.

  • On-base-first includes unaccompanied E-4 members.
  • E-4 past three years may choose the community.
  • Occupancy limits apply to that community choice.
  • Ask housing which rule matches your orders.
  • Loaner furnishings are available for 90 days.

Community housing

  • The office can translate and review the lease.
  • Agencies charge one month of rent at signing.
  • They also charge a deposit equal to one month of rent.
  • First and last month of rent are due then too.
  • A typical three-bedroom home is about 1,100 square feet.
  • Off-base bills can include water, sewage, and trash.

Schools

  • Sollars Elementary School covers pre-K through grade 6.
  • Edgren High School covers grades 7 through 12.
  • Both schools serve the Misawa community.
