Spangdahlem Air Base is in Germany. The installation housing office is the office for this base. This page is for service members of any branch assigned there. The rates table prints rental ceilings, the utility allowance, and MIHA from the DTMO OHA Rate Lookup.

1. Housing: OHA, not BAH
Off base, housing money is Overseas Housing Allowance, not BAH. DTMO reimburses rent up to the lease or the allowance, whichever is less. Check current rate on the DTMO OHA Rate Lookup after the housing office confirms the locality.
Rental ceilings, the utility allowance, and MIHA for locality DE741 are in the rates table. They come from the DTMO OHA Rate Lookup for pay period 16 October 2026. Allowances effective 20261001. Rate of exchange 0.84399999999982, effective 20261001. An E-1 to E-4 with dependents has a rental ceiling of 1333.00 euro ($1579.38). The utility allowance with dependents is 999.00 euro ($1183.65), the same amount for every pay grade in that status. Without dependents it is 749.25 euro ($887.74). MIHA is 665.00 euro ($787.91). Digits are as the lookup printed them. A later pay period can differ.
The Air Force housing page says you must report to the military housing office within two work days of arrival, before you sign a lease. It says German leases require 90 days' termination notice and three months' rent as a security deposit, and that move-out maintenance can fall on the tenant. It says the office uses a USAFE lease instead, and that with a German lease neither the housing office nor base legal can mediate for you. No rent average is printed on this page.
For the tour, the page says you can be issued a refrigerator, stove, washer, dryer, microwave, wardrobes, transformers, a smoke detector, and a fire extinguisher. Temporary loaner furniture may be kept up to 90 days or until household goods arrive, whichever is first.
2. Government housing and the office
The same page lists government housing as 139 townhomes, 92 stairwell units, and 2 duplex-type units, near the elementary and middle schools. Apply with DD Form 1746. A walk-in within 30 days of arrival can be backdated to the date you left the last installation. After 30 days, the application date is the walk-in date.

Needs verification. The housing page does not print one set of hours. The body says Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The contact table on the same page says Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Ask the office which clock is current.
Unaccompanied housing rules on that page are written for Air Force dorms: E-1 to E-3, and E-4 with less than three years, are required to live in the dorms. The page says the permanent-party dorm campus has 844 rooms in eight dormitories. Another service should ask the office what applies. The unaccompanied office phone on that page is DSN 314-452-6692.
3. Schools
The housing page lists a school liaison at DSN 452-6942 (commercial 00 49 6565 61 6942), an elementary school at DSN 452-6881, and a middle school at DSN 452-7205. It lists a high school at DSN 453-9393 and prints the commercial number as 00 49 6561 61 9393. That commercial prefix is not the same as the others on the page. Use the number the school gives you. No tuition figure is printed here.
