Naval Station Rota is the Navy housing host for this locality. Moron is different.

Housing allowance

• OHA pays rent up to the lease or the ceiling, whichever is less.
• See the rates table for your pay grade.

The NAVSTA Rota housing page lets accompanied members choose, for now.

• They may live in government family housing or in the community.
• The community option may change without notice.
• If family housing is wanted and no unit is open, you go on a waiting list.
• A later government-funded move can take the family from off base into family housing when a unit opens.

Unaccompanied housing:

• Single E-4 and below live in permanent-party barracks on arrival.
• They are not authorized temporary lodging allowance unless a room is not available.
• E-5 and above live off base.
• E-4 and below on unaccompanied orders, shore or sea, must live in unaccompanied housing on arrival.
• Check with the command before you plan to live off base.

Family temporary lodging allowance is a maximum of 30 days.

• Those families stay at the Navy Lodge while drawing it.
• Pets are not allowed there. Board them at your expense.
• If the lodge is full, permission is given for a community hotel.
• Families may take a temporary assignment in base housing while they look.

On-base housing

Las Palmeras has 421 homes for officers and enlisted members.

• Homes have two, three, or four bedrooms.
• They have central heat and air conditioning.
• Each home has a range, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, dryer, and a fenced yard.
• On-base power, including family housing, is 110 volts at 60 hertz.
• Community homes are 220 volts at 50 hertz.
• Loaner furniture is available for up to 90 days.
• Off-base appliances in the full-tour program are European, 220 volts at 50 hertz.
• Storage in the homes is limited.
• The station has no facility for storing excess furnishings.

• Check in at the housing service center before you sign a community lease.
• Ask whether a family-housing unit is available, and whether the community option is still open.
• Unaccompanied E-4 and below: ask whether a barracks room is open.
